The Holy Scriptures We believe the Holy Bible, the Old and New Testaments, with its sixty-six canonical books in the original manuscripts is the verbal, plenary, inerrant and infallible Word of God, entirely without error or contradiction in all matters of which it speaks. We additionally believe that God, by His singular care and providence, has preserved His Holy Scriptures, and that the Holy Bible is, therefore, the only sufficient, final and supreme rule of authority of faith and practice (Ps. 12:6-7, 119:89, 105, 152, 160; Matt. 5:18, 24:35; Luke 16:17; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Heb. 4:12; 1 Pet. 1:24-25; 2 Pet. 1:21; Rev. 22:18-19).
The God Head We believe in One Triune God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that they are equal in essence and attributes, yet distinct in office and activity (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; that He is the Eternal Son of God, that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless and perfect life, died on Calvary’s Cross, was buried and rose again the third day, was seen of many, ascended into heaven and that He ever liveth to make intercession for all that come to God by Him (John 1:1, 14; Matt. 1:16-23; Isa. 7:14; Phil. 2:6-8; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; 2 Cor.5:21; Acts 1:9-11; Heb. 7:25).
We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit, that He is a person and not a force, that He regenerates, baptizes, seals, indwells, fills, teaches, guides, convicts, comforts, intercedes and sanctifies the believer (John 4:24; Ps. 139:7; John 14:16-17; 1 Cor. 12:13; Tit. 3:5; Eph. 1:13, 4:30, 5:18).
We believe the sign gifts of the Spirit in 1 Cor. 12:8-10 to be miraculous gifts, sovereignly bestowed by the Holy Spirit for a limited time. These gifts were for the infant church of the first century and are not for the church today.
Creation We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days and that man was created on the sixth day. We believe that life is sacred and that it begins at conception. Accordingly, we hold that the intentional termination of that life by abortion or euthanasia is condemned by Scripture. (Ps. 139:13-16; Jer. 1:5).
Salvation We believe that the only way to be saved is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; that all who believe on Christ are justified [declared righteous] on the basis of His shed blood; that the goal of man’s salvation is being restored to the likeness of Jesus Christ for the glory of God. (Eph. 2:8-9; John 3:16-18; Acts 16:31; Rom. 10:9, 10; 1 Cor. 15:3-4)
We believe that all the redeemed of God are kept by God’s power and are thus eternally secure in Christ, forever, and that once a person is truly saved, he will always be saved. (John 10:28-30; Eph. 1:13-14; Phil. 1:6; 2 Tim. 1:12; 1 John 5:13)
Sanctification We believe that sanctification is the divine setting apart of the believer unto God accomplished in a threefold manner: First, at the moment of salvation the believer is established in a position of holiness in the sight of God. Second, as the Holy Spirit applies the Word of God to the life and as the believer yields to God in obedience, the believer continually becomes like Christ. Third, when the Lord returns for the redeemed, the process of conformity to Christ will be complete. (John 17:17; 2 Cor. 3:18; 1 Thess. 4:3, 4; 5:23, 24; Heb. 10:10-14; 1 Peter 2:2)
The Church We believe the Church, which is the Body of Christ, began with the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, and that those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are members of the Body of Christ and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Great Commission is for the Church; that the Lord’s Supper as a memorial and Baptism by Immersion are the ordinances of the church, and that Christ has commanded us to practice them in this age (Acts 2; 1 Cor. 12:12-18; 1 Cor. 6:19-20; Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 8:35-38; 1 Cor. 11:23-29).
Satan We believe that Satan is a person, the author of the fall, and that he has been defeated on the cross, and shall be eternally punished (Job 1:6 – 2:7; Gen.3:1-6; Heb.2:14; Rev.20:10).
We believe that Christ may at any moment return in the air to rapture the saints and that a tribulation period of seven years will follow, after which He will come to the earth with His saints and rule for a thousand years. After this, the wicked will be judged and cast into the lake of fire. We affirm our belief in a pre-tribulational rapture of the church and the pre-millennial return of Christ in glory. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust; and in the eternal conscious punishment of the lost, and the eternal joy of the saved (1 Cor. 15:51-57; 1 Thess.4:13-18; Dan. 9:27; Matt. 24:15-21, 25:46; Rev.19:11, 20:10-15, 22:12-14).
